#MicroblogMonday: Spidey Sense

My spidey sense started tingly a month ago. It started right before Mother's Day. I saw a random post on Facebook and I thought "they're pregnant." It was just a few ordinary posts, links, memes, etc. NONE of them mentioned pregnancy. But I knew better. It wasn't even a person I know well, but still, I just KNEW.

I remember the last announcement I realized, before it was made. Again, there weren't any clues, but I just KNEW.

It made me wonder if, as an infertile, your pregnancy detection monitor becomes better fine tuned. Maybe its because we want to become pregnant so badly, that we start to notice those little signs in others. Maybe its because those announcements can be so hard on us, that we tune in early, so we can better prepare, emotionally and mentally, for the big announcement.

Today, the official announcement was made. I was right.

  1. A crappy thing to be right about, but I agree, infertility has a way of fine tuning your pregnancy radar. I hope it wasn't quite as hard for you since you were expecting it. Hugs!

  2. Oh yes! I totally think there is something to that. I know my eye will go to a belly, or I'll notice things the person is saying. Maybe it is trying to protect my heart by figuring it out early.

  4. I am also very good at knowing when somebody is pregnant before official announcement is made.
I am 100 % sure that this is because announcements are so hard on me. I just want to be prepared.
I am still very good at knowing. Since announcements are still hard on me. They always will be. And - I definetely don't want to be pregnant now. Getting pregnant in mid 40-s is too old (don't want to offend anybody, but this is how I feel now).

  5. Works this way for me too. I think you might be right: it gives us some time to prepare mentally, though I don't think I am using this time wisely...

  7. YES! I always know, I don't know how, I just do. I think it's actually really good because it takes away some of that element of surprise and I'm a little bit more prepared for it.
