#MicroblogMondays: Easter

Going back to school has cut into my aunt time. Easter is this weekend and I have yet to buy anything for my nephews. I am aware that most aunts don't buy or make a gift for every little holiday, but I usually do. It gives me joy. I also find it a great way to be part of a holiday that I would normally be forgotten on.

I'm double bummed because I missed Valentine's also. I did do something for St. Patrick's Day, but I still feel like I'm slacking. Granted, they are all still young enough that they probably don't even notice. But I do.

Luckily, I have Amazon Prime. All I need to do is decide what I want to order and it should be here in time. I'm thinking of maybe a slip 'n' slide for the older nephews and a small wading pool for the younger ones.

Its about spoiling the ones I love. And making sure I keep my position as best aunt ever.

  2. I LOVE Slip-n-slides. Too many bumps and bruises from them, but so many wonderful memories.

And it is wonderful you are thinking of your nephews. They are lucky/blessed to have such a wonderful aunt.

  3. I love making & buying stuff for the kids for holidays! I feel like they need it! I've been seriously slacking though too! Life seems to have gotten the best of me when it comes to remembering to buy gifts! Loved your post!

  4. I'm pleased that the "Easter presents" idea hasn't reached New Zealand. We would give Easter eggs and chocolate. Nothing else though. (I mean, isn't that what Christmas is for?)

Still it is fun being able to spoil our nieces and nephews, I agree.

  5. A slip and slide definitely puts you in the running for best aunt. But my sister already holds that title :-)

  6. I used to buy chocolate for my nephews when they were little. Now that they are in their 20s, though...! ;) I HAVE been making up packages to send to the two Little Princesses (my parents' neighbours' daughter's girls), but I waited too long for Easter. :( I will make it up to them when I see them this summer, though. ;)
